Battling - The Exhibition
Battling - The Exhibition
War isn't only about soldiers - and books aren't only about words.
They are also about good covers that excite the imagination and convey a sense of what the book is about. They are about good design and layout so that the subject is presented to very best advantage.
These are the things that our wonderful friends at Sprout bring to our work - imagination, flair and taste as part of the team effort to create books that are good to read and good to look at. Each of our printed books is the outcome of a long collaboration between ourselves as authors and Sprout as graphic artists.
We would like to show you something of how all this happens, we would like to let you see some of the research materials that are the foundations of every good book.
So, in partnership with Sprout, we are mounting an exhibition of to show you something of what has gone into creating Battling: Territorians and Their War. The book and the exhibition are a contribution we are delighted to make to help commemorate the seventieth anniversary of the first bombing of Darwin.
The exhibition will be on show at the new air-conditioned Vault Gallery (within the offices of Sprout at 51 Smith Street, Darwin)
